Our Black and White Travelwise Event will be held on Wednesday, the 6th of August. All BBS students are encouraged to add a splash of black and white to their school uniform while using sustainable transport by walking, biking, scootering, parking and walking or taking the bus to school.

Each student who uses sustainable transport and adds a dash of black and white to their uniform will receive a strip of black or white paper from their teacher. Together, each class will use these strips of paper to make a black and white chain. They will then take their chain to the hall, where all of the chains will be joined together.

Year 4-6 classes will then be invited to go to the hall and estimate how many students at BBS used sustainable transport. At our Week 5 assembly, the Travelwise Team will announce which Senior class had the closest estimate. The winning class and the Junior class that they have been matched with will win a pizza lunch!

The focus of this Black and White Travelwise Event is to encourage all students and BBS family members to use the pedestrian crossings near our school. You can help keep our students and families safe by using the designated crossings near our school. These crossings are supervised and marked to ensure everyone can cross the road safely, especially during busy pick-up and drop-off times. Encouraging children to use them helps build good safety habits and greatly reduces the risk of accidents in high-traffic areas around the school.
