What is Netball?
Netball is an exciting, fast and skilful game. It is a game in which two teams of seven players each strive to keep or gain possession of the ball.
The team with the greater number of goals at the end of the game is the winner.
While Netball developed first as a game predominantly played by women and girls, it is now played by boys and girls, women and men. BBS have a few boys who have played over the years, but only 1 or 2 boys can be in the same team. More Information
Winter Netball - 2026
Y 1-4 ( 5&6) Pinehurst Saturday REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN - Close on Friday 6th March
Winter netball is played through Terms 2 and 3 - Registrations are now open and close at 9am on Friday, 6th March for Pinehurst and Wednesday, 4th March for Netball North Harbour
Year 1- 6 Kidzplay Information:
* Games played at Pinehurst School
* All years will play in a netball uniform, which is a school netball dress ( with a different option for boys), which is hired for the season and then returned. * There is a $20 hire fee for the uniform .
* The registration cost for 2026 is $70 and if the team can not supply their own umpire, then there is a cost of $15 a game for one.
* Teams must have a coach and manager to be registered
* Training times and days are decided by the coach once teams are put together.
Year 5 and 6 can either play at KIDZPLAY Pinehurst on a Saturday (as per the Kidzplay information below) or choose to play at Netball North Harbour on a Wednesday afternoon/evening - please scroll down further on this page for this information.

Y5 & 6 Netball North Harbour Wednesday REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN -

Please note that students playing at Netball North Harbour will be trialled to be placed in teams, and is a competitive netball league. Trials will take place at 7.30am on Friday 6th March.
Year 5-6 Netball North Harbour Information: more competitive option
* Games played on Wednesdays after school, anytime from 3.45pm - 7pm ( 30th May - 20th Aug)
* Games played at Netball North Harbour -Onewa Domain, Northcote
* Teams are graded
* Teams play in the school netball dress ( with a different option for boys), which is hired for the season and then returned. In 2026, this fee will be $20 for Winter Netball.
* The registration cost for 202 is $90pp and then there is a cost of $15 a game for umpires each week.
* Teams must have a coach, manager and umpire to be registered
* Training times and days are decided by the coach once teams are put together.
Year 5-6 Netball North Harbour Information
Spring Term 4 Netball 2026
Spring netball is played for approx. 6 weeks in Term 4 - registrations happen in August each year. All registrations for netball are made online - please see the links below.
Year 1- 6 Kidzplay Information:

* Year 1-3 play in the school sports uniform, and Year 4-6 play in the school netball dress which is hired for the season and then returned.
* The cost for 2025 Spring Netball is $30 and if the team can not supply their own umpire, then there is a cost of $10 a game for one.
* Teams must have a coach and manager to be registered
* Training times and days are decided by the coach once teams are put together.
